The Greenbrier Celebrates 100th Anniversary of the Old White Golf Course

The Greenbrier’s iconic original Charles Blair MacDonald-designed golf course made history Easter weekend. The Old White TPC, the first 18-hole golf course at The Greenbrier, opened in 1914. A legend of Greenbrier golf history, the course was named for the well-known Old White Hotel, which stood on the grounds from 1858 to 1922.

Herb Stevens Ski Season Wrap-Up

The 2013/14 West Virginia Ski Season is in the books and thanks to Mother Nature the weather was winter like from the beginning of the season over the Thanksgiving holiday to the end of March. Skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers enjoyed great conditions all season look as over 13 feet of natural snow fell in the West Virginia mountains during the season and the sub-freezing temperatures allowed snowmakers to make snow around the clock which meant more terrain opened earlier and stayed open throughout the season.

Spring Skiing in the Mountains of West Virginia 2014

West Virginia’s ski areas, after enduring perfect winter conditions, are relishing in perfect spring skiing conditions. The mountains of West Virginia have received over 12 feet of natural snow this season, including over a foot in some areas last night and this morning, and temperatures have been perfect for snowmaking operations.
